Look around you. There might be someone you notice who is having a hard time. Reach out to that person! During Suicide Prevention Month (as in every month), it is important to understand that help is available for people who need it. When someone becomes depressed it can seem as if no one else cares. By reaching out to that person to offer support you might be the one who helps him or her realize that things will get better.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline has counselors who can help someone who is thinking about suicide. Please share the phone number and website if someone you know seems to be giving up on life.
